Emergency Shelter
| |
If
you feel you are not safe in your home or place of residence due to
domestic violence or sexual assault, DASI’s Emergency Shelter may be an
option to consider for you and your children.
Although we use the term “shelter”, it is really a four bedroom home in
a residential neighborhood. However, the location of the shelter is
kept confidential, it is staffed 24/7, and we have an extensive
security system. In a warm, home-like environment we provide food,
transportation, individual supportive counseling, support groups,
services for children, advocacy, legal advocacy including court
preparation, court accompaniment, information and referrals. Mothers
remain responsible for their children, share cooking and cleaning
duties, and may continue to work and attend school or other activities.
Because this is temporary housing, DASI can help you in your efforts to
obtain more permanent housing.
If you need shelter, please call our 24-Hour Hotline at: 973-875-1211 for more information.
